Alyssa Mesiti

Senior Physiotherapist

Born and raised in the Hills district, Alyssa first found her passion for Physiotherapy as a patient herself, spending many afternoons at her local physio clinic, rehabbing her dance related injuries.

After graduating in 2018 with her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from ACU, Alyssa dove straight into private practice with the goal to experience and treat as many conditions as possible in a fast paced environment. After spending time in the sports physiotherapy and workers compensation space, she found her true passion for Women’s Health physiotherapy, and decided to dedicate her time to this specialty.

Alyssa has completed extensive personal development courses through APA and WHTA on conditions such as pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, pessary fitting training, urinary incontinence, urgency, and pre and post natal care. She is currently working towards titling via the Australian Physiotherapy Association experiential program.

Alyssa has also received her certification in Clinical and Matwork Pilates. With over 6 years of clinical Pilates experience, her wealth of knowledge allows her to take her patients care to the next level.

Outside of her professional life, you will find Alyssa either teaching or participating in a group strength or reformer class, trotting around the Bay Run with her mini groodle and baby boy in tow, or planning her next holiday.

Heather Minnich

Senior Physiotherapist

Heather’s strong clinical foundations were built early in her career through providing both inpatient hospital services (including the maternity ward and with postoperative women’s health patients) and also working with musculoskeletal outpatients - particularly female netball athletes, performing preseason continence screening. Driven by her own pregnancy and birthing experience and the meaningful change that treatment can make for women’s quality of lives and symptoms, she commenced working solely in women’s health physiotherapy over a decade ago. Having three young children herself she is familiar with the competing demands of prioritizing your health while also caring for your family. As such her experienced treatment approach aims to make symptom management seamlessly integrate into daily life.

Heather has completed extensive professional development to enable high standards of clinical care in the areas of incontinence or urgency, overactive bladder, pelvic pain, prolapse and sexual pain. Her experience has enabled her to undertake the pathway to titling via the Australian Physiotherapy Association experiential program (Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health). Heather has further training for fitting vaginal silicone support pessaries to provide non-surgical management options for pelvic organ prolapse.

Heather holds a passion for helping women continue to move comfortably and remain physically active throughout the childbearing year. Her skillset empowers women to understand the changes experienced during pregnancy and guide women into motherhood working towards goals of recovery and exercise. A particular area of interest for Heather is helping women maintain high-level sporting performance during pregnancy and guiding their return to competitive sport postpartum.

Heather prioritises helping women navigate through the life stages and transitions and the symptoms that may present at each stage. She has engaged in regular community presentations regarding pelvic floor management, perimenopause and the intersection with exercise. Heather values working collaboratively with women to prioritise their wellbeing.

When not in the clinic Heather can be found spending time outdoors exploring or camping husband and 3 children or on an early morning run.
